It doesn't matter how cool the gadget is if it's going to break down a lot. Even if the repairs are covered by warranty, it's just a hassle to get it fixed.

PCWorld.com polled 45,000 visitors to the site to find about their experience with their tech products.

Latop PCs: Apple and Toshiba rated the highest for reliability and service. Dell and HP had the lowest scores.

Desktop PCs: Apple and Sony topped the list while CyberPower, Gateway and HP got thumbs down.

Digital Camera: Cannon won this category. The losers: Kodak and Samsung.

HDTV's: the favorites are Panasonic, Pioneer and Sharp. Mitsubishi was the loser.

As in years past, PC World found that notebook computers "were one of the most trouble-prone sectors of the high tech world." Nearly a third of those surveyed said they had at least one significant problem with their laptop.
