Do you need to adjust your insurance coverage?

Do you need to adjust your insurance coverage?

Life is full of changes - and your insurance should reflect that.

"I think a lot of times people don't realize that insurance is designed for you and for your needs," said Karl Newman, president of the NW Insurance Council. "It's important to make sure that as your life changes, whether it's marriage, a new home, or retirement, that you're ready by working with your insurance company to make sure you're covered the way you need to be."

In some cases, you may need more coverage. In some cases, you might need less. Or maybe, you just need a different type of policy. A few examples:

Newlyweds may qualify for a discount on their auto insurance.

If your about to become a parent, you may want to boost your life insurance. It's estimated that one out of three families with new babies haven't updated their policies.

After a major home remodel, you might now be under-insured and need to boost your coverage.

Change jobs and your new employer might not offer you as much life insurance in your benefits package. You might want to buy an individual policy to make up the difference.
