NORTH BEND, Ore. -The Mill Casino Hotel is known for it's July 3 fireworks display but this year, they're also bringing folks back to the boardwalk on the fourth, for a different type of celebration in the sky.

Come nightfall this Friday, the premature Independence Day Fireworks will once again be shot off across the bay, beginning around 10 PM.

And while there will be a barbecue and beverages set up on site earlier in the day, guests 21 and under will be restricted to the far ends of boardwalk. According to Mill representative Ray Doering, the changes reflect the casino's decision to prohibit minors on the gaming floor, at the start of the year.

"This year we do have on change from the past years is we're not going to do the children's activities as we have in the past years," says Doering. "With the changes in the casino we felt that was a change we had to make here but otherwise it's a family friendly event."

And the celebration continues the following morning, as the Mill Casino and Sandfest team up to host a, "Salute to the Military," airshow and display over the bay.

"It will be starting pretty much on the dot at 11:30 I'm told, with the Coast Guard Rescue demonstration and with what we believe will be the first jump by the US Army Silver Wings Parachute Team, which has been a change in the schedule", says Doering. "They want to jump early, maybe get in before the wind picks up."

Other activities include a vintage airshow and aerobatic demonstration.

And on the ground will be a free non-stop shuttle available at the Pony Village Mall, near Macy's, for all guests traveling to and from the Mill. Runs start on Friday, from 7 PM to midnight, then again on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
