LOS ANGELES - Katt Williams, the comedian who has repeatedly found himself on the wrong side of the law, is out on bail after being arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of child endangerment and possession of a stolen gun.

Police Officer Norma Eisenman says Williams was taken into custody Friday after the LA County Department of Children and Family Services did a welfare check at his home. Authorities found more than one firearm, one of which had been reported stolen.

Eisenman says the DCFS did not specify how many children lived at the home or whether they were removed.

The 41-year-old Williams has been arrested multiple times in recent weeks, including at least three times during a visit to Seattle in early December.

During that visit, police say Williams argued with customers at a hotel and threatened the manager with a pool cue. Williams is accused of then throwing a lit cigarette into a family's car, which hit a woman in the face, and throwing a rock at that car.

Police said Williams struggled with officers as they tried to put him into a patrol car. Producer Suge Knight later bailed him out, TMZ.com reported.

A group of fans also claims Williams assaulted them after one of his Seattle performances. The fans claimed Williams had attacked them after they tried to take a photo with him after the show, Seattle police said. However, Williams claimed the fans had forced their way into his dressing room, and denied assaulting anyone. No arrests were made in that incident.

In addition, an audience member claims that Williams clobbered him with a microphone during a show in Seattle. Now that fan has filed a lawsuit alleging Williams should have never been allowed to take the stage.

Williams also was arrested in Northern California this month on a felony warrant related to a police chase. In November, he was accused of hitting a man on the head with a bottle during a fight.

Williams, whom police said was 41 but who is listed as 39 in online biographies, is known for his role as Money Mike in "Friday After Next." He also was on Nick Cannon's MTV improve show "Wild 'n' Out" and has appeared on BET's "Comic View." Recently he was parodied on "Saturday Night Live" for his arrest in Oakland.

He has been known for confronting hecklers and last month in Oakland he was moved off stage by his own security staff. The day before he was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly beating an 18-year-old.
