COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Blackberry Arts Festival is an annual Coos County summer event, and this year, the Coos Bay Downtown Association is talking about implementing a no-smoking policy.
This policy would ban smoking along Central Avenue in Coos Bay during festival hours.
Over 100 artisans and vendors typically participate in the popular event.
However, management does not believe they will have the manpower to enforce the ban this year. "I think there are some benefits to banning it, but at the same time we don't want to alienate some people that might want to come to our festival, so it's a balancing act," said Nathan Jurey of the downtown association.
Jurey says he doesn't think the ban will be in place this year, but could be in the future.
