NB church gives away free clothes this weekend
NORTH BEND, Ore. - Doing what they can to help out folks during these tough economic times, the Church of Christ in North Bend is giving away free clothes this weekend to anyone who wants them.

Volunteers at the church have been working all week to prepare for their annual free clothing giveaway.

Every year, the church opens up their doors for one Saturday in the summer, offering gently used clothes and shoes to people who need it in the community.

"We don't have any limitations and we don't have any requirements, everybody's welcome to come," says coordinator DeeAnn Russell. "And we just want everybody to come and get clothes they can use for their family."

Church members and the community have donated hundreds of shoes, coats, sweaters, pants and other items.

On the day of the event Russell says they expect around 500 people and there won't be much left by the end.

"If you are in a family and you have several people in your family, that could be a lot of clothing that you would need. We typically do not have hardly anything left."

Bags will be provided for those attending.

The free clothing giveaway runs from 9 to 2 this Saturday.

The Church of Christ is located on Broadway in North Bend.
