MYRTLE POINT, Ore. - The 102nd Coos County Fair runs through Saturday.

"It brings our community together here," said Jasmine Barker, the fair and rodeo queen. "It's great fun for families to come and enjoy."

The fair aims to make families the focus this year.

"We do have some extra alcohol security this year, and we're trying to change up our alcohol policies a little bit just to make it a little more family friendly," said Robin Harkins, who chairs the fair board.

Beyond the midway and the fair animals, the rodeo is one of the main attractions.

"For the rodeo, we went back to Friday and Saturday night, bulls, barrels, team roping, kids events," Harkins said.

And going to the fair doesn't have to cost a lot.

"There's stuff for you to do even if you don't want to spend a lot of money once you get here," Harkin said. ""Western Express Railroad is here, kids can jump on there and go for a ride around the fair grounds. That doesn't cost anything."
