Marshall Plan could lead to prosecuting even bigger cases

SALEM, ORE - A one-time Assistant District Attorney in Coos County is now awaiting Senate confirmation to reach the title of U.S. Attorney. The White House nominate Amanda Marshall to serve as U.S. Attorney for Oregon.

The Office of Senator Ron Wyden announced that Oregon Assistant Attorney General Amanda Marshall was nominated, along with Lane County Sheriff Russel Burger, who was nominated to serve as Oregon U.S. Marshal.

Amanda Marshall served in the Coos County District Attorney's Office from 1996-2001.

Wyden says, "as U.S. Attorney, Amanda will be a partner with me and others in the community in the battle to stop human trafficking and prosecute those who prey on children."

He believes both nominees deserve quick confirmation by the Senate.
