"Death Lite" opens this weekend at Southwestern
By Kristina Nelson
COOS BAY - Using humor as a way to deal with a family tragedy, the Southwestern Oregon Community College Theater Department and the Dolphin Players explore this idea in a brand new three act comedy set to hit the stage Friday.
"Death Lite: Three one-act comedies about Death," takes the subject of death and spins it's dark image with lighthearted comedy. The first of the three acts called "Under Control" is set in Florida and follows the story of a widow and her two stepchildren as they decide how to celebrate the life of their family patriarch. The second, "Bits and Pieces" follows the death of a well known academic and the third " Thirteen Things about Ed Carpolotti," follows a grieving widow. "Death Lite" runs Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10th at 7 pm, and Sunday at 3pm, as well as next Friday, May 16th and Saturday, May 17th at 7 pm. Tickets are eight dollars for adults, six for seniors and free for students. All performances will be in the Hales Center for the Performing Arts on the Southwestern campus. |
