COOS BAY, Ore. - A report of a stolen vehicle in Coos Bay Saturday night led to a high-speed pursuit and ended in an accident on a Coos Bay street.

According to Sgt. Chris Chapanar with the Coos Bay Police Department, police received a call around 6:40 p.m. of suspicious activity at a car lot in Coos Bay.

A vehicle left the lot, and police confirmed with the owner that it had been stolen.

Officers began looking in the Coos Bay-North Bend area, where several sightings had been reported.

A Coos Bay officer was able to locate the vehicle, along with two other vehicles, associated with that stolen vehicle. The officer then attempted to stop the vehicle.

Chapanar said the initial pursuit began at the intersection of Brussels and Newmark in North Bend and ended on Coos Bay Boulevard minutes later.

Coos Bay Fire and Police, North Bend Police, Bay Cities Ambulance and the Coos County Sheriff and Crash Team responded.

The driver, 19-year-old Christopher Page, was transported to Bay Area Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Page was arrested and transported to Coos County Jail on charges of felony elude, reckless driving and four counts of reckless endangering.
