NORTH BEND, Ore. - Wendi Boutiette, the former Coquille High School track coach, was arraigned in North Bend on Tuesday, on charges stemming from an alleged incident of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Her charges include one felony and two misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse with a minor.

She was arrested in February after the male victim in the case came forward alleging he had sexual contact with Boutiette in 2006.

"The alleged victim that's been brought forward in this case is not being truthful. Our investigation has already uncovered a whole realm of inconsistencies and actual impossibilities with his statement, but it would be inappropriate to go into it at this juncture," says Boutiette's Roseburg-based attorney David Terry.

Terry adds, they're prepared to go to trial but he's hoping it won't come to that.

"I'm anticipating there's a good chance it will be dismissed before trial but if it doesn't, then yeah, we will go to trial."

However, Douglas County Deputy District Attorney Shannon Sullivan who is handling the case says the chance of the case being dismissed is unlikely at this time.

Boutiette is scheduled to be back in court on April 30th for a change of plea hearing.
