Lakeside fireworks show will be bigger than ever
By Erica RushLAKESIDE, Ore. -Packed full with all the fun, food and fireworks you can handle, this year's 15 Annual Independence Day Celebration in Lakeside, promises to give you the biggest bang of all time. The Independence Day Committee met Tuesday to go over all the last minute details, before the three-day celebration kicks-off this Friday, July 3. Among the street fair, there's the classic car show, celebrity bull riding, live music, games and drawings. But the grand finale is of course the fireworks, that will go off around 10 PM on Saturday, July 4. And because of an unfortunate accident last year, event coordinator, Dodi Guin says spectators can expect to see their best show to date. "There was a little incident with the pyrotech out on the barge, that apparently, something happened and he tripped and fell over," says Guin. "Anyway he broke his foot and he was kind of out there along with no other Pyrotech. But they've assured me this year they'll have two Pyrotechs at least out on the barge." Spending upwards of $10,000 or more just on fireworks alone, organizers tell us they've created quite the reputation over the past 60 years. Hotel rooms and camp sites are all booked up by now but there's still plenty of space for day-use visitors. Once again the Lakeside Independence Day Celebration kicks off this Friday at 9 AM. |
