5 overboard when waves capsize boat

CHARLESTON, Ore. - Wind and waves capsized a boat with 5 people aboard in the Coos Bay Channel on Thursday afternoon, the sheriff's office said.

All 5 people, including a 2-year-old child, were rescued by other boaters. No one was injured.

The Klamath Falls residents were camping at Bastendorf County Park. Their 13-foot boat capsized around 1 p.m.

The Coast Guard responded and recovered the boat.
