Bicyclist hit, killed after falling in front of car

LINCOLN CITY, Ore. -- A bicyclist in the center turn lane of Highway 101 fell into oncoming traffic and was hit and killed by a car Sunday evening.

Kit Yang Charlene Pun, 26, of Alberta, Canada, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Pun was in the center turn lane with another bicyclist around 6:03 p.m. when she fell into the southbound lane directly in front of a car driven by Doral E. Bray, 86, of Otis, Ore.

Hwy. 101 was closed for approximately three hours with both northbound and southbound traffic being diverted to side streets around the crash scene while the crash investigation was being conducted.
