COOS BAY, Ore. -Even with the downpour this weekend, it didn't stop the out pour of community support, as local participants came out for the 14 Annual, See Jane Run event.

A soggy Saturday, nearly 30 participants braved the rain at John Topits Park.

Sponsored by the South Coast Running Club, the 5k run and walk for women serves as a fundraiser for the Women's Safety and Resource Center.

They've been serving Coos County for more than 30 years now and October's Domestic Violence Awareness Month is the perfect time to rally together and help support the operations of the agency.

According to Judy Moody with center, "It supports women who are going into our emergency shelter, women and children going into the emergency shelter. It helps us support our Advocates that are there in our office at Caddington Place that work with victims every day."

If you would like to find out more about how you can help or to volunteer, you can contact the Women's Safety and Resource Center at (541) 888-1048.
