NORTH BEND, ORE - A brief power outage affected thousands in the North Bend/Coos Bay area on Tuesday, while also clogging traffic at intersections that lost their traffic signals.

According to Pacific Power spokesperson Jan Mitchell, the outage was due to a blown fuse at a substation transformer in North Bend.

The power went down at about 1:30 p.m. with several major intersections, including the Broadway/ Newmark intersection, had to make due without traffic signals.

Fortunately, there were no reports of any accidents related to the outage.

Power was restored at about 2:15 p.m.. PP and L says 3,600 customers were affected by the outage.
