COOS BAY, Ore. -Coos Bay City Council calls a Special Meeting to decide how to proceed with their Interim City Manager position, even as they continue their search to fill the permanent City Manager role.

That's not to say the council has any issues with Police Chief Roger Craddock who has been filling in since former Manager, Chuck Freeman was fired at the end of September.

Mayor Jeff McKeown says Craddock's appointment was intended to be a short-term solution until the council could meet to go over other options, which they will do on Tuesday.

One of those options is to continue with Craddock, which has the added benefit of helping the City financially, by not having to fill a vacant position. But other options that will be discussed include hiring from the League of Oregon Cities list of prospects, or falling back on past Interim City Manager, Chuck Knight.

Mayor McKeown says the search for a new City Manager could take as long as six-months.

The Special Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, beginning at 7 pm.
