MYRTLE POINT, Ore. - Winter may be right around the corner, but for the folks on the Coos County Fair and Rodeo Committee, that just means it's about time to saddle up and start preparing for another fun filled summer in Myrtle Point.

And first on the list, selecting a fair theme.

Maybe it was because of the scorcher they had last summer, with temperatures reaching into the low hundreds, but this year, the committee settled on the theme, "Carnival Lights and Country Nights."

Out of nearly 30 entries, they believed this one, thought up by Austin Morrow, was the best in show.

The Coos County Fair and Rodeo has been running for a total of 97 years now, providing opportunity for all ages to exhibit livestock, floral, land products, and their arts, while also of course, taking a trip around those carnival lights.
