Teacher at Pacific High facing charges of Official Misconduct
By Tim Novotny KCBY NewsPORT ORFORD, Ore. - A shop teacher faces charges he offered a female student money in exchange for sex. Charles Douglas Klea, 48, faces two counts of prostitution and two counts of official misconduct after the sheriff and district attorney took the case to the Curry County grand jury. The grand jury indicted Klea Jan. 28. He was arraigned Jan. 29, then booked and released per the judge's instructions. School officials said Klea was placed on administrative leave when the charges first surfaced on Jan 21. The school contacted the Curry County Sheriff's Office to investigate. Detective Dave Gardiner, with help from the high school administration, interviewed numerous students and faculty during the investigation. According to the sheriff's office, the charges stem from multiple incidents in January where Klea offered the female student money for sex. Both the school district and the sheriff's office are continuing their investigations into the matter. If you have any information on this case you can call the Curry County Sheriff's Office at (541) 247-3242 or (800) 543-8471. Most Popular |
