Fatal shooting in Reedsport

REEDSPORT, Ore. -A Reedsport man is fatally shot over the weekend and two other residents taken in for questioning.

Reedsport Police received a call just after 2 am on Saturday, reporting that a man had been shot at the home Garry Thomas Dawson, 64, located on Elm Street.

Police confirmed that Reedsport resident Apollo Deilan Rohkohl, 37, had been shot and medical personnel declared Rohkohl dead on scene.

Dawson was then transported to the Reedsport police station for questioning along with one other witness.

The shooting is being investigated as an accidental/ self defense shooting with assistance from the Douglas County Major Crimes Team.

Reedsport Police say upon completion of the investigation all reports will be filed with the District Attorney's office for a grand jury presentation.
