COQUILLE, ORE - The race for Kevin Stufflebean's Coos County Commissioner seat gets a veteran presence, as former County Commissioner Gordon Ross announces his intention to run.

Ross last served as Coos County Commissioner in 2006, before stepping down for health reasons, after 15 years of service.

Ironically, it was Stufflebean who then out-dueled Timm Slater in a very close race for Ross' vacant position.

Now Ross is looking to get that seat back, running on a platform of fiscal responsibility, the advocacy of private property reform and the wise use of public lands.

In a press release, Ross said he would like to help manage the county's limited revenues in a responsible way, adding that if elected he "will do his best to represent the taxpayer and citizens of Coos County."
