COOS BAY, Ore. -The Oregon Coast Historical Railway Museum will have to switch tracks now, after the Coos Bay Urban Renewal Agency voted against funding their new projects.

The rail museum has been set up on First St. in downtown Coos Bay for nearly nine years now. Over the years, they've brought in new equipment and expanded their facility but now they're asking for financial assistance in building two train sheds, to protect the engine and train cars from the weather. The estimated cost for this project is roughly $220,000.

Aside from councilor Mark Daily, the other Agency members agreed this was premature and suggested the Rail Society look into grants to begin with.

The Historical Railway Museum is a Nonprofit Educational Organization that's open to the public from 9-3 on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the Winter months.
