A Night at the Museum

NORTH BEND, Ore' -For a select few, The Coos Historical and Maritime Museum opened its doors after hours to offer a special viewing of unseen items and locations within.

It may have said closed on the door but Thursday's 'Night at the Museum,' was anything but inactive. Inside, close to two dozen on lookers came out to see just what this building has tucked away in the back

First opened in 1948, this museum has acquired a lot of interesting artifacts over the years. Unfortunately they don't have the space to showcase everything at once. So for the first time ever, history buffs got an in depth tour and lesson on how things work.

The museum is currently working with the City of Coos Bay to build their new and expanded building on the Waterfront. Organizers say that will help in displaying more of their historic material to everyone.
