Reedsport goes for the gold this St. Patrick's Day
By Erica Rush, KCBY NewsREEDSPORT, Ore. -Folks everywhere were pulling out the green this St. Patrick's Day Holiday, and perhaps looking for a little luck of the Irish. At least that was the case for a bunch of Reedsport residents.. competing in a Pub Crawl, Trivia Challenge. 75 plus people packed into the Reedsport Library Wednesday evening for a community wide fundraiser. The original intent was to raise money for library's $350,000 Renovation Project by picking teams and various colors of green to compete in a trivia based pub crawl. But as luck would have it, the green cash flow eventually carried over to other businesses supporting the project, bringing a little pot of gold to everyone. According to Theresa Hart with the Reedsport Library Renovation Committee, "This fundraiser in general has been really inspiring to the community and help them to be more aware of this project. And this is one of the more fun events that we put on so far and so we're looking forward to people just having a good time and donating money to the library and spending money at our local businesses." Hart estimate this event will raise $400-$500 for the Reedsport Library Renovation Project alone. |
