"People there at the scene immediately began C.P.R., deputies responded, E.M.T.'s responded," said Douglas County Sheriff Deputy Dwes Hutson. "Unfortunately the young lady died there at the scene as a result of the collision."

The ATV rider, Jonathan Shonk, 21, of Rogue River, Ore., not injured. He was aboard a 2007 Suzuki 400 Quad.

The collision caused severe injuries to Powell. Sheriff's deputies gave her CPR until paramedics arrived, but Powell died at the scene.
