Tribe hosts youth golf clinic at Bandon Dunes
BANDON, Ore. - Area kids of to all ages brushed up on their golf game Thursday, during a special golf clinic held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

Around 100 kids participated in the free Youth Golf Clinic hosted by the Coquille Indian Tribe and Bandon Dunes.

Resort professionals were there providing some hands on coaching, something Reedsport golfer Marcus Gabaldon says will definitely help his game.

"I'm hoping to fix my swing a little bit, I've had a really bad slice the past couple years, I hope to get rid of that. And you could always get better at putting or chipping so I'm just hoping to hone in on some skills today so."

Mike Black with the Mill Casino-Hotel, says each kid gets a chance to work on their putting, swing, and actually play the par 3 course at Bandon Dunes Practice Center.

He says the goal of the clinic, is to get kids interested in the sport.

In June, the tribe hosted their annual Adult Golf Fundraiser Tournament at Watson Ranch Golf Course in Coos Bay.

Proceeds from the tournament will help send kids to a golf camp next week at Watson Ranch Golf.
