Coos County Fair kicks off 98th season

MYRTLE POINT, Ore. - The Coos County Fair is officially underway in Myrtle Point, as fair and community leaders came together to kick off the festivities Tuesday morning.

A small group gathered at the entrance to the fairgrounds to kick off the 98th season during opening ceremonies.

The Coquille and Myrtle Point VFW posts were on hand to help raise the flag and have a gun salute.

Fair and Rodeo Queen Natalie Hutcheson and Miss Coos County Outstanding Teen Caitlin Snuggerud helped cut the ribbon to mark the official start to the fair.

In addition to a rodeo on Friday there is also carnival rides, 4-H exhibits, food vendors and a lot more.

The fair is open daily through Saturday.
