Albany man sentenced for persuading teen to take nude photos

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) — An Albany man who persuaded a teenager to take nude photos of herself and send the images to him in exchange for money has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison.

The Albany Democrat-Herald reports that David Wesley Wright was sentenced Friday on a charge of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.

The 46-year-old Wright was a metal shop teacher at South Albany High School. The victim, however, was a family acquaintance.

Another man, James Dixon, was sentenced in 2011 to more than 15 years in prison for sexually abusing the same girl.

Wright apologized in court, saying: "I hurt someone. I had an obligation to protect her and I didn't. I hurt a lot of people."
