Ambill murder trial to start Monday

COQUILLE, Ore. -- The trial for a man accused of murdering a handicapped adult in a North Bend motel last summer begins on Monday.

Jury selection and opening statements in the case against Ronald Wayne Ambill will begin Monday morning at the Coos County Courthouse in Coquille.

Police believe Ambill is the only suspect in the case, and he has been charged in the death of David Marion Barker.

Barker was found dead at the Itty Bitty Inn in North Bend last July.

He died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the head, according to authorities.

The trial is expected to last through most of the week.
