Car overturns on wet road east of Charleston

CHARLESTON, Ore. - A woman was taken to the hospital after the car she was riding in crashed on a slippery road and overturned early Tuesday morning.

Coos County Sheriff's Deputies along with Charleston Fire Department and Bay Cities Ambulance responded to the crash on Libby Lane east of Charleston just before 3 a.m.

They found a 1989 Honda Accord driven by Mark Socia, 22, of Coos Bay had overturned and sliding on a wet slippery road surface.

Socia was not injured. His passenger, Madison Stuermer, 20, was taken to Bay Area Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

No citations were issued, the sheriff's office said.
