Coast Guard officer arraigned on rape charges

NORTH BEND, Ore. -- U.S. Coast Gaurd officer Luke Kanada, 20, stationed in North Bend was arraigned Monday morning on sex abuse and rape charges.
Coos County law enforcement says Kanada allegedly had a 3-month relationship with a 15-year old girl from July 28th to October 5th.
According to court documents, despite being in a dating relationship, the girl claims she did not give Kanada permission to have sex with her.
Kanada facing a number of charges. Some of which include third degree rape and giving alcohol to minors.
Kanada is currently out of jail, and is due back in court late next month for a preliminary hearing.

WTH is wrong with people....I am the mother of the 16 year old. You need to get your facts straight. My daughter and Luke had a consensual sexual relationship. Never not even to the NBPD, did she state it was not consensual. Both Luke and my daughter were honest with the NBPD, because they really didnât believe they had done anything wrongâ¦a lot a good being honest did them. They met at the fair on July 28, 2012 and had no contact with each other after August 19, 2012! My husband and I took our daughter to Bay Area Hospital immediately after she was brought home on July 29, 2012...she had lab work done, blood and urine both NEGATIVE (no drugs or alcohol in her system). Even after calling the station and reporting the inaccuracies and giving an interview to Mr. Maranon, this reporter has failed to rectify the situation that he made worse for these  young people. You see your story makes it appear as though Luke forcibly raped a 15 yr. old girl, which explains the types of threats heâs been getting. You made my daughter look like she was just out to get Luke, because he made her mad or somethingâ¦which explains the types of threats sheâs been receiving and all the slanderous comments sheâs received. What really fascinates me is how people believe anything and everything they see in the news. I choose not to be that Naïve. I told Ricky Maranon that the sex was consensual and we werenât happy with the plea deal, on November 19, 2012. Still this article remainsâ¦.this story should be REMOVED immediatelyâ¦because of the inaccuracies.

Hey captcha. How do you know what really went on? Were you there as well. Not all 15 year old are floozies. Sounds to me you need to check your info before blowing off your steam.
Where's the punishment for the little floozy who couldn't keep her legs together? I'm sick of the double standards. Yes, he SHOULD have known better....at 15 years old, SO SHOULD SHE!! Make her take some responsibility for her actions. It wasn't RAPE if she was a willing participant and it was a 3 month relationship. At worst, it should be STATUTORY RAPE because it was against the (double-standard) law and nothing more.
