Dead man and person of interest caught on camera at market
NORTH BEND, Ore. - A housekeeper discovered a dead body on Tuesday, and now authorities are looking for a hitchhiker who may know something about what authorities are calling a homicide.
Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier said investigators want to talk to Ronald Wayne Ambill, who is 46 or 47. He is believed to be a transient.
The victim was identified as David Marion Barker, age 60 or 61.
Barker checked into the motel on Monday.
Frasier had earlier said investigators are looking for a white man in his 30s or 40s who was last seen wearing a striped shirt and carrying a backpack.
"This person was last seen Monday in the area of the motel," Frasier said. "We have some reports this person may be hitchhiking on 101."
Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.
