Fire burns 56 acres north of Gold Beach

GOLD BEACH, Ore. - The cause of a wildfire north of Gold Beach that burned 56 acres is under investigation.

The Euchre Creek fire was reported Wednesday afternoon about 12 miles north of Gold Beach on lands protected by the Coos Forest Protective Association.

Firefighters went to work with water tenders and bulldozers on the ground while two air tankers and two helicopters provided aerial attack.

As of Thursday morning, the fire was 80 percent contained and not expected to spread.

The cause remains under investigation.
