Searchers locate Florence man

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A Florence man disappeared in the woods while picking mushrooms in the woods in coastal Douglas County on Wednesday was found Thursday.

William Sathe, 69, was reported missing 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The sheriff's office said he was located Thursday morning. Details about his condition are not yet available.

Sathe and 5 other people were picking mushrooms off of County Line Road off Highway 101. He did not return to the car at the end of the day.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Sathe is reported to be experienced in the outdoors but did not have any supplies with him.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, tennis shoes, a gray coat and red hat.

A family member told KVAL News that Sathe is frail with heart and joint problems.
