COOS BAY, Ore. - The City of Coos Bay may revamp the flag display on the boardwalk, and they want to hear what citizens have to say.

For the past few years, dozens of U.S. flags have lined the wooden walkway, but that wasn't always the case.

International flags used to top those poles to signify Coos Bay as an international port.

The City Council thinks it's time to tell a story wth the display once again.

"I like the international flags," said Mayor Crystal Shoji. "I think they give us a flavor that is truly Coos Bay. But there may be some parameters on whether it's just any old international flag or if there's specific ones. Some people might prefer something else; up at the capitol they have tribal flags."

Residents can contact the mayor to share their thoughts on the subject.
