Police: Car hit loaded log truck near Coos Bay
Police said the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries

ALLEGANY, Ore. - A car collided with an oncoming log truck Monday east of Coos Bay.

The driver of the 2003 Cadillac Deville was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The log truck driver declined transport to the hospital.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. on Highway 241, east of Coos Bay.

According to state police, Melissa J. LaRue, 32, of Coos Bay was southbound in a Cadillace when she drove across the centerline and hit an oncoming log truck.

The crash sent the truck driven by James Cook, 46, of Coos Bay over an embankment, leaving the loaded trailer blocking taffic.

Police cited LaRue for Failure to Maintain a Lane of Travel.
