COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- A Roseburg man led police on a high speed chase through the Coos Bay area Friday night, and was eventually captured after crashing his car.
Authorities say that police attempted to pull over the car after there were multiple reports of a wreckless driver through North Bend.
The driver didn't stop, and the chase went down Highway 101, through downtown Coos Bay and over to the Empire District.
That's when North Bend police deployed spike strips.
Officials say the car hit the strips at such a high rate of speed, the car spun out of control and into some bushes.
The driver then fled.
After a long search along the shore line, police located, identified and arrested Christopher Michael Beamer of Roseburg on multiple charges.
His arraignment is set for Monday.
"Wreckless"? Does that mean there wasn't a wreck?
I am getting so sick and tired of people taking the police on a high speed chase through our town when our children can be taken out just because they want to get away. Word of advice? Quit Breaking the Law!!!! Get it??????
