UPDATE: Police chase ends in North Bend when suspect hits patrol car

NORTH BEND, Ore. -- A police chase ended on Monday morning when Steven Schuster, driving a VW Jetta, hit a state trooper's patrol car and continued into a pickup truck, the Oregon State Police said.

No one was seriously hurt in the crash, officials said.

Before noon on Monday, police were chasing Schuster along Highway 101. 

The vehicle crashed on the south end of the McCulllough Bridge in North Bend, police said.

Officials said that Schuster ran into an Oregon State Police patrol car before traveling into a pickup truck.

Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions on Highway 101 as crews worked the crash scene. 

Schuster was taken into custody at the scene of the crash officials said.
