Lakeview teen found safe after wanted former deputy turns himself in

LAKEVIEW, Ore. -- Former Lake County sheriff’s deputy Kenneth Turkle, who was wanted in connection with an investigation into an alleged sexual relationship with a missing 17-year-old Lakeview girl, turned himself in at the Lake County Jail Sunday morning.

The teen, Marriah Andrews, contacted police hours later. She was found unharmed and detectives have contacted her family, state police said.

Turkle, 42, from Lakeview, was wanted for three counts of 3rd-degree sex abuse and three counts of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. He was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with Andrews, state police officials said.

Andrews’ family reported her missing on Friday. Witnesses said the Lakeview teen was reportedly last seen leaving the Grants Pass area with Turkle.

Officials said Turkle, who was a deputy for more than 10 years, resigned a week ago amid an investigation by OSP detectives.
