Sheriff: Man tried to hit boy with vehicle

BANDON, Ore. -- The Sheriff's office says a man was arrested Monday night after he tried to hit a boy with his vehicle.

Just before 11:30 pm, Coos County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the 47000 block of  Highway 101 in Bandon for a reported assault with a vehicle.

The Sheriff's office says Bandon police located the suspect vehicle in Bandon while deputies went to the scene.

Officials say the investigation revealed that Tyler Takahashi, 33, of Bandon, attempted to hit a 15-year-old male with his car.

Deputies say the boy was with Takahashi's ex-girlfriend in the driveway of the residence.

The 15-year-old was not injured, deputies said.

Bandon police officers found Takahashi driving north on Highway 101 in Bandon in his 1992 Honda Prelude.

Deputies arrested Takahashi and transported him to the Coos County Jail without incident.

The Sheriff's office charged him with Menacing.
