Sheriff: Woman says people making fun of her, fires gun

COOS BAY, Ore. -- A woman was arrested Sunday, after deputies say she fired a gun because she thought people were making fun of her.

The Sheriff's office says they were called to a residence in the 60000 block of Confusion Hill Road, for a report that a woman had fired shots after confronting people vacationing from Michigan.

Officials say a 26-year-old female and her father were at their rental house when Elizabeth Ellen Schade, 48, of Coos Bay, showed up and accused the two of 'making fun of' her.

Authorities say she told them she was armed and knew the people were teasing her. They reported hearing shots fired after Schade walked away.

Deputies arrested Schade, and she was booked into the Coos County Jail on menacing and unlawful possession of a firearm charges.
