Wanted man runs into park, manhunt ensues

COOS BAY, Ore. -- A wanted man fled into the wooded John Topits park near Empire Lakes Friday morning when Coos Bay Police tried to carry out an arrest warrant, the Coos Bay Police Department said.

CBPD has surrounded the John Topits park near Empire Lakes and have started a manhunt for the suspect.

Officials on-scene said that they are using a K-9 unit to track down the suspect in the park.

Police said that they believe the man was living in an unregistered van parked at the entrance of the park.
