COOS BAY, Ore. -- A Coos Bay woman celebrated a major milestone by turning 100 years old on Monday.
Frances Rosander celebrated 100 years of life with some of her closest friends and family, who flew in from all over the country to celebrate her special day with her.
John Rosander & Jeannine Parker, her son and daughter, say it's a pretty special day for all of them. "It's a milestone in our family, she's the first one to make it."
Rosander was nothing but smiles at her centenial celebration. "It's not everyday a person can be this old," she joked.
Born in Medford in 1914, she say says she's lived a wonderful life.
There are a few things she credits. "I try to eat sensibly and do what exercises I can, and then my spiritual side, I never neglect that," she said. "That's what keeps me going."
And a growing family to share it with. "There's nine, five generations in the family," she said.
Rosander says she knows she's not going to be around forever, but she says she will enjoy it until the end. "It's getting difficult, but I still love life."
