COOS BAY, Ore. -- Mother's Day kicked off the start to National Women's Health Week.

Hundreds of women stepped out to Mingus Park on Saturday to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle at the 6th annual Let's Walk and Talk Together event.

The walk is hosted by the Coos County Women's Health Coalition, but several businesses offering women's health services had booths set up.

Women walked away with goodie bags and several giveaways.

Lindi Quinn said it was an event to bring awareness to women's physical health. "It's all about promoting the fact that women need to take care of their bodies first, and then they can take care of their families," she said. "We have chosen to promote walking because we know that anybody can go out and put on their tennis shoes and lap the pond here at Mingus Park, or go to another park and walk.”
