EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon law restricts the kinds of fireworks you can legally set off at home.

But professional fireworks operators set up shows across the region on the Fourth of July.

If you want to leave the rocket's red glare to the pros, here are some ideas where to go - including fireworks at a nudist resort.

EUGENE July 3 & 4

Eugene Emeralds at PK Park

The Ems take on Spokane at 7 p.m. on July 3. Stay after the game for fireworks over PK Park.

The Ems are at Boise for July 4.

68th Annual Freedom Festival at Alton Baker Park

Freedom Festival fireworks display is presented each year by the Active 20/30 Club of Eugene.

Admission $9 Adults/$1 Children 6-11/Children under 5 are free.

Family activities & exciting games, music & entertainment, food booths and the fireworks extravaganza. Proceeds from this event benefit local children’s charities.

Eugene Pro Rodeo

After the Eugene Pro Rodeo action on July 4, stick around for the fireworks and then dance the night away and party until 1 a.m.

The rodeo continues through July 6.

The rodeo is held at the Oregon Horse Center, 90751 Prairie Rd, Eugene, OR 97402. Admission prices vary.


FERN RIDGE RESERVOIR July 4

Richardson & Orchard Point Parks will be open late into the evening to allow the community to view Eugene Yacht Club’s annual fireworks display on Fern Ridge Lake. $5 per vehicle for the day. Fireworks show starts after dark.

OAKRIDGE-WESTFIR July 4

Free to the public. Gates at 8:30 p.m., fireworks 10:30 p.m. at 48447 Westoak Road.

SPRINGFIELD July 4

4th of July Light of Liberty Celebration


The awe-inspiring Light of Liberty is a fundraiser featuring music, food, family fun and a fabulous fireworks show set to music and reflected over the scenic Willamette River at Island Park, 200 W. B St. Admission $5 to $7. More info

CORVALLIS July 3 & 4

Red, White and Blue Riverfront Festival presented by the Downtown Corvallis association features live music on the bank of the Willamette. The Corvallis Jaycees will put on a fireworks show after dusk.

CRESWELL July 4

The celebration in Creswell starts at 7 a.m. with a breakfast at Holt Park, 1 N. 4th St., followed by the Fourth of July parade. A fireworks show is held at dusk.

DEXTER July 4

Dexter 4th of July Celebration

Activities start Friday, July 4, at 4 p.m.at Dexter State Recreation Area, 39011 Hwy 58, Dexter, OR 97431

A holiday tradition at Dexter Lake, this event supports the local volunteer firefighters. Venders, food, live music and fireworks show over the lake.

LANE COUNTY

Willamettans Fourth of July Celebration

The Willamettans Family Nudist Resort, 37000 Parsons Creek Rd, Springfield, OR 97478, plans fireworks at dark. Admission varies.


ALBANY July 3

The first of Albany's annual River Rhythms summer concerts kicks off July 3 at Monteith Riverpark with soul-blues performer John Nemeth takes the stage, along with classic soul musicians the Bo-Keys featuring Percy Wiggins.

A fireworks display will follow the show.


HARRISBURG July 4

Old Fashioned Fourth of July events all day long, followed by fireworks at dark.

ROSEBURG July 4

An evening of family entertainment is planned this July 4 at Stewart Park with Three live bands, delicious food from local vendors, face painting for the kids, and a fireworks display.

Diamond Lake July 4

Fireworks and family activites from noon to midnight, with live music after the fireworks.

COOS BAY July 3

The Mill Casino will light up the skies over North Bend and the Coos Bay shoreline, with their annual waterfront fireworks display on July 3.

Guests are invited to enjoy the 10 p.m. fireworks show for free in the non-reserved seating areas located along the boardwalk.

Free non-stop shuttle service will be available from the south end of Pony Village Mall (next to Macy’s and cinema) to the casino from 7 p.m. until midnight.


FLORENCE July 4

Independence Day Festival

Fireworks are launched over the Siuslaw River. Enjoy live music and shopping all day in Old Town, Florence.
