New operator at the Roseburg Airport terminal

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Roseburg City Council has named a new Fixed Base Operator for the Roseburg Airport.
Monday night the council approved the appointment of Van Bishop to take over the operation, that serves as the terminal at the airport, operating the unicom radio and offering service and fuel for planes coming into the facility.
Bishop says he's anxious to make some positive changes to the operation. "We're real excited to bring the Roseburg Airport back where we all know it can be, and for executive services for businesses coming from out of town and providing the kind of top services we like to see here," he said.
Bishop says they'll have an executive jet they'll offer for charters, and he plans to bring the maintenance back to full service just as it was in the past, to attract more aircraft to the airport.
With the runway extension project and taxi-way improvements allowing for larger planes to take off and land in Roseburg, they expect to see more business jets coming in and out of the airport.
