CORVALLIS, Ore. -- For the first time since 2006, the Beavers will end the regular season playing someone other than Oregon, as Nicholls State visits Reser Stadium this Saturday.
The Beavers wrapped up their final regular season practice on Thursday and according to Jordan Poyer, it's Oregon State tradition to exchange jerseys.
The players say it's an example of how close this team's become over the course of the season.
"We're all brothers on this team," says Poyer. "We hang out on and off the field, on weekends. It's a good experience to be with a group of guys like this."
"It started after the last game, last season," says Markus Wheaton. "We all kind of built close relationships and put in a lot of work."
The Beavers say they are a completely different team from last season, yet they all remember the loss to Sacramento State. They say this year they aren't taking anything for granted.
"I think the reason we practice so hard is because Coach (Mike) Riley challenges us everyday," says Storm Woods. "To get better everyday."
"I think they just like football," says Mike Riley. "They like to practice. That's made it a fun year obviously for coaching.
"It's really easy to come out here and be with these guys."
