Ducks WR Josh Huff found not guilty in DUI, speeding cases

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - University of Oregon football player Josh Huff has been acquitted of an intoxicated driving charge.
Prosecutors had accused the Ducks wide receiver of driving under the influence of marijuana last March.
The six-member Eugene Municipal Court jury deliberated for about 2 1/2 hours before returning its verdict Thursday.
Huff told The Register-Guard that he was relieved but also expected the verdict because, in his words, "I am innocent."
Earlier in the day, Huff testified that his wobbly performance during a videotaped field sobriety test was not due to marijuana. He said he has always had trouble with balance and was also affected by cold weather during the traffic stop.
Before reading the jury's verdict, Judge Don Diment found Huff not guilty of speeding moments before a Eugene police officer stopped his car on the night of his arrest.

I give up our Court system is a joke seem's as though if your in College and your a Duck you can do as you wish, lol, so sad.How do we expect our kids to have role models anymore when they are using illegal drugs but yet no punishment for such use?I for one can't wait for the sports program with the duck's to crash and burn at least OSU did the correct thing and kicked out their football players that got arrested.Josh Huff will once again be arrested soon its a pattern when you use drugs and again people will play the race card once again.
@outdoorboy I'm sure if her were wearing tie-dye, and had some dreadlocks, you would have painted him a victim.  You're obvious dislike for all things sports/Ducks has clouded your vision.  No one should want someone innocent to be found guilty.  You sir, are a baby.  Get over yourself.
@mz @outdoorboy So now I am a baby, lol, Freedom of speech I am so sorry you people in Oregon now love people who use drugs and say marijuana is ok to use.I don't believe in drug use in any form so keep the name calling coming support our drug using college sport role models for our children you just keep proofing my point.Sports has nothing to do with this issue he was caught with marijuan so I guess eugene police planted that also and far as his statement as to being cold as his excuse to stubbling, lol, need I say more.We can start by posting how many duck players have been caught breaking the law even on video admitting to smoking marijuana so please don't tell me they don't get special treatment,lol....
@outdoorboy Six members of the jury unanimously (you know, all six of them) decided that the city hadn't proved that he was DUI. Just an arrest, or just a news article, or just because you don't like the Ducks doesn't make him guilty of anything. And they talked about it for 2 1/2 hours after seeing ALL the evidence; not just summaries the news media have. If you get arrested and have a 0.00 breathalyzer, and have one test that shows marijuana and one that doesn't, do you think YOU should be found guilty just because you are a football player?
@hewhoo You people are so clueless, lol,I love how a jury of Duck Fan's find the guy not guilty.Yet he was arrested and charged and brought before our court sytem once again you people fail to understand anything when its a Duck sports figure under arrest, a average person no matter what race would be found guilty. So next you will say all police in eugene are racist toward Duck football players, lol.Time and time again they are arrested and found not guilty so the average person is the one who should cry racism not these sports figure cry babys.
@outdoorboy I was a prosecutor for five years and a defense attorney for another five years and while going to law school rode dozens of times on OSP  DUII arrests. I have also served on a couple of juries and based my decisions on the evidence presented, not my bias for or against a person. You seem too biased to be a juror when a football player (at least for the Ducks) is involved. I would have challenged you for cause when I was defending.Â

It looked like over reaching by the police department after the 0.00 breathalyzer result. I won't say that driving while black is a problem in Eugene, but this IS the 2nd football player arrested in a couple of months...the other one had a 0.06 reading..three beers.
