OSU's Moore gains Freshman All-American status

TUCSON, Ariz. - Oregon State right-handed pitcher Andrew Moore has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team, it was announced on Wednesday.
 
It's the second national award of the year for Moore, who was named to Louisville Slugger's All-America Second Team last week.
 
The Eugene, Ore., native is 13-1 on the year and carries an eight-game winning streak into the Corvallis Super Regional. Moore has a 1.22 earned run average, which remained the same after he won in the Beavers' 3-2 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
 
He has thrown three complete games this season and three shutouts. Moore has also issued just 23 walks in 111 innings and has posted 61 strikeouts while opponents are batting .192 against him.
 
The Super Regional against Kansas State starts at 4 p.m. Saturday, 7 p.m. Sunday, and 4 p.m. Monday. Note, Monday's game is an if necessary game in the best-of-three series. All tickets for the super regional are sold out.
