EUGENE, Ore.-- Dane Phillips' 2RBI double in the 5th inning proved to be the difference, as the Eugene Emeralds beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 3-1 on Saturday night.

The game was tied in the 5th, and with the bases loaded, Phillips doubled right up the middle. Stephen Carmon and River Stevens scored on the play to give the Ems a 3-1 lead.

Earlier in the 5th, Ronnie Richardson tied the game 1-1, when he scored on a throwing error by first baseman Joseph Rapp.

The Volcanoes lone run came in the 1st inning, when Chucky Jones hit a solo home run off Chris Fetter, who was on a rehab assignment.

The Ems and Volcanoes are back on the diamond Sunday at 1:05 PM.
